KC Devotional for Summer Splash 2023

Wednesday - 7 Days before camp

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it  be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.    -Matthew 5:13-16

Reflection Questions:

  1. Have you ever eaten some chips that have gone stale? Or gulped down a glass of milk only to find it was sour?
  2. Do you put them back in the cupboard or refrigerator?
  3. Do you understand that Jesus is talking to you here too? You are the “Salt of the Earth” and the “Light of the World.”
  4. How might you give flavor to God’s Word with the kids next week?
  5. How will you let your light shine this with your kids at Summer Splash?

Prayer: Lord, you are a light in what is sometimes a dark world. Would you help me to reflect your light to the other KCs and to the kids in our programs. I ask that you help me to set aside all of my concerns and all of the things that distract me from you as I prepare to be used by you as a KC at Summer Splash. I thank you for the opportunity that you give to me to be a part of your ministry to families. Help me to humbly serve you and give you all the glory for the wonderful things that will happen.
